Privacy at a glance

  • No account required. Songaveler does not ask for a player profile.
  • No ads or analytics. The current game code does not use advertising or analytics trackers.
  • Progress stays local. Your settings and Daily Stats are saved in your browser, not in a Songaveler account.
  • You control sharing. The game writes a challenge link to your clipboard only when you choose Share Link.

1. About this policy

Songaveler is a browser-based music game available at songaveler.romoboss.com and operated by Romoboss Games (“Songaveler,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy applies only to Songaveler. The main Romoboss website and other sites reached through links have their own policies, including the separate Romoboss Privacy Policy.

2. Information we handle

Information stored in your browser

Songaveler uses browser local storage to remember the preferences you select. These are your colour theme, search-result limit, interface transparency, required Lucky connections, required Lucky linked songs, and whether the navigation sidebar is open. It also stores the dates on which you start a first Daily Challenge attempt, plus the move count and elapsed time if that attempt is completed, so it can show your completed total, streak, and averages. These values remain on your device and are not sent to us by the game code.

Challenge and result links

Challenge links contain numeric identifiers for the selected start and target artists. A Daily Challenge link also contains its date. A completed result URL can contain the route you took and your elapsed time after the # symbol. These details may remain in your browser history. If you copy or share a link, anyone who receives it can see the information it contains. Information after # normally remains in the browser and is not included in the request sent to the web server.

Information you send to us

Songaveler has no account system or contact form and does not ask for your name, email address, or other profile information. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message, email metadata, and anything else you choose to include.

Technical request information

Like other websites, the infrastructure used to host and protect Songaveler necessarily receives your IP address when your device requests a page or file. It may also process the request date and time, requested URL, browser or user-agent information, referring page, and error or security events in standard server or security logs. This information is used to deliver, protect, and troubleshoot the site—not to build advertising profiles.

Music catalogue data

Artist names, song titles, and their connections are included in a static database built using metadata from MusicBrainz and popularity information from Last.fm. Playing the game does not send your searches or gameplay to MusicBrainz or Last.fm.

3. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to:

  • deliver the website and its game files;
  • remember the preferences you choose and calculate your local Daily Stats;
  • create, play, and share artist challenges;
  • maintain, troubleshoot, and protect the site;
  • respond when you contact us; and
  • meet applicable legal obligations.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interests in providing, maintaining, and securing Songaveler; compliance with legal obligations; and consent where we specifically request it. Local preferences are saved when you ask the browser to remember a setting. We do not use Songaveler data for personalised advertising, profiling, or decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

4. Cookies, local storage, and tracking

The current Songaveler game code does not set cookies and does not use advertising or analytics trackers. It uses local storage only for the preferences and Daily Stats listed in Section 2. You can remove those values through your browser’s site-data or storage controls. Doing so resets your preferences but does not prevent you from playing.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioural advertising. Information may be handled or disclosed only:

  • by providers that host, deliver, or secure the site, as needed to provide those services;
  • where reasonably necessary to comply with law, a valid legal request, or to protect rights, safety, and security; or
  • as part of a transfer or reorganisation of the project, subject to applicable law.

When you choose to share a challenge or result link, you decide who receives the information contained in that link.

6. Retention and deletion

  • Browser preferences and Daily Stats remain on your device until you change a preference, clear Songaveler’s site data, or your browser removes them.
  • Current searches and gameplay remain in page memory and are lost when the page is closed or reloaded.
  • Links and browser history remain according to your browser settings and wherever you choose to share them.
  • Hosting and security logs, if retained, follow the hosting or security provider’s configured retention period and may be kept longer where reasonably necessary for security or legal requirements.
  • Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain necessary records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.

Because browser preferences and result fragments are held locally, we normally cannot identify or retrieve them. You can delete them with your browser controls. We cannot delete copies of links retained by people or services with whom you shared them.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights concerning personal information we hold, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions.

Contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to understand and verify it. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. More information about EU data-protection rights is available from the European Commission.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the limited information handled by Songaveler. No internet transmission, browser storage, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Avoid placing sensitive or personal information in links that you intend to share.

9. Children’s privacy

Songaveler does not require an account and does not ask players to submit personal information. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent personal information to us, please contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

10. Third-party sites and international processing

The menu includes a link to romoboss.com, and other links may lead to third-party sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Providers that host the site or our email may process information in countries other than yours, subject to their own safeguards and applicable legal obligations.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Songaveler’s features, service providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted where reasonably appropriate.

12. Contact us
